Shannon obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Towson State University and her Master’s of Science Degree in the area of speech/language from Loyola College. She has worked in a specialized school setting for children ages 13-21, as well as elementary, middle and high school settings, and private practice. Shannon served as a language consultant to the Head Start program in Baltimore City, and joined the staff of Building Bridges Therapy in 2019. Her range of experiences include work with children ages 2-18 with communication disorders, on the autism spectrum, children with Down Syndrome, childhood apraxia of speech, fluency disorders, and social/pragmatic disorders. Shannon has continued to improve her clinical skills by attending courses related to early childhood stuttering, a language-based approach to managing echolalia, and proving adverse effect for children with cognitive communication deficits. Outside of work Shannon enjoys exploring the outdoors – hiking and biking, visiting new areas, and reading. She and her husband have four grown children and are presently empty nesters.
